Help get Chinatown residents out to vote! Volunteers needed this weekend!

In partnership with Chinese Family Services (CFS), CWG is offering accompaniment services for seniors and/or people with disabilities who live in Chinatown to get out and vote in this weekend’s municipal election.

The service will be promoted by CFS on wechat, in the Chinese community newspapers, and we are reaching out directly to the managers and residents of six low-income housing units located in Chinatown. Since this is the first time such a service has been offered to Chinatown residents, we cannot be certain of the demand for this service. But CWG thinks the important thing is to inform, educate, and empower residents so that they at least have an option and the means to vote.

Requests for accompaniments are by appointment only so that we can better coordinate our limited resources.

Accompaniment services will be offered on November 6 and 7, 2021 from 9h30 to 13h each day.  Accompaniment services will include a return trip to the polling stations by a driver and a helper. Service is offered to two polling stations:

ÉDIFICE CHAUSSEGROS-DE-LÉRY
303, rue Notre-Dame Est
Hall d’entrée
Section 21
HOLIDAY INN MONTREAL CENTRE-VILLE
999, rue Saint-Urbain
Salle Orchidée A et B
Section 26

Driver requirements:
